We have enjoyed our stay enormously.  Staff so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.  Wonderful food.  The gardens look beautiful.  We have been intending to stay here for many years, and have at last achieved our ambition - it has not dissappointed.  One of the best hotels in England.

As annual visitors, we are delighted to find your hotel and staff as thoroughly enjoyable and kind as ever.  Wonderful as the food in the restaurant and wine lists are, it seems to us that your staff really make your hotel - unflappable, kind, cheerful and willing, and make it such a thoroughly pleasurable experience.  It would be unfair to single out individuals in such a well run organisation as your dining room, but Andras, Kate and the two girls assisting were all excellent, dignified, and made us feel very welcome and looked after .....

The Hotel is unique, room excellent, just missing tea and coffee making facilities.  Breakfast was one of the best I have had in a hotel for a long time.  The gardens are beautiful.  I also must say the staff I came in contact with were all excellent.  I would recommend this hotel.  Thank you for a pleasant stay.

We are writing to thank you and all those involved at The George for making our wedding day so special.  It really was the best day of our lives and we will remember it forever.  We truly believe that it wouldn't have been so special without your help, advice, time and attention to detail.  Everything ran so smoothly in the lead up to the day and on the day itself.  The marquee looked exceptional, the food was incredible and the setting and service was simply perfect!  Thank you for being so accommodating and helpful, it was an absolute pleasure working with you and I hope we can keep in touch

'You don't really need to do a Guest Comment Card.  Our stays at The George arealways drop dead gorgeous.  From the porter who sprints up the path to scoop up my luggage to the attentive staff who in the past made a fresh fruit salad for my brother, who is diabetic.   We always go home from a brief stay at The George feeling spoilt to bits.  Thanks for this lovely place.'

'Staff service as ever excellent.  One gets the feeling they are all very nice and interesting people as well as extreme perfectionist and competent.   -Room beautiful  -Plants in corridors amazing, haven't seen such well-tended plants sincea visit to Wisley RHS garden.

This is, as ever, our most pleasant stay of the year, despite staying at 35c. establishments throughout the year.  Love to Gus! (P.S. i much appreciate the personal welcome when we arrived.  It is so lovely to be recognised).'

'This room has been refurbished since we last stayed in it and how very nice it is now with a trendy but practical en suite.  Great to have armchairs and a TV positioned so that it can be seen easily from chairs or bed.

Gala dinner was absolute heaven - better than '08 - I think it's the best meal i've ever eaten.  All staff were attentive and helpful, inspite of the incredible number of hours worked over the festive period!  Everyone had a smile.'

'In recent years my husband and I have stayed overnight at The George en route to Yorkshire for Christmas and as well as being by far my favourite hotel it has become the highlight of Christmas for me.  Yet again i was not dissappointed.  Food, accommodation, staff, even car parking were perfection and I shall now look forward to our next visit hopefully in the spring.  I continue to recommend The George and indeed Stamford to friends and family and some have also come to know their delights.
